The location of this property was fantastic. Not knowing the town, having never been here before, I couldn’t have hoped for a better spot. Situated in a safe, quiet corner amongst some nicer shops, there was little automobile traffic and very light tourist pedestrians. There was a major full-service bank the next block over. It’s a very short 2-3 minute walk to the south end of the Malacon. The river Cuale and it’s island of shops and restaurants was at the end of the block, with the Romantic Zone just beyond. 4-5 minute walk to the Lady of Guadalupe church. Driving-wise, it’s easy to access the main road north through the rest of city, and easy access to head south out of town to the Botanical Garden and Los Arcos. Likewise, easy to get back to. No dedicated parking, just on-street parking which can be difficult during the day, but by late afternoon or early evening spaces open up. We never had major issues in 6 days. The staff was friendly and welcoming and available for advice or help with services, including very reasonable laundry. There was always somebody at the front desk, they really kept a good eye on the place. We had a 2nd floor corner room with a good, wide view of the street. The room was large, we found the bed to be very comfortable, and while not a luxury property, it was very clean and in good repair. It would have been nice if there was a couch or some other seating, as there was plenty of space for it. The shower was large, the rest of the bathroom on the smaller side, with not much counter space for personal items. There was a mini-fridge for our water and such. All in all, we had a delightful stay and would absolutely book Hotel Porto Allegro again without hesitation!

We have been coming to PV for years and have stayed at the Porto Allegro many times. As always they do not dissapoint. Rooms are comfortable and clean, they are equipped with hair dryers, coffee machine and mini fridges, a small microwave would be a welcome addition. Beds and pillows are amazingly comfortable. The breakfast, which is included, is excellent and made to order by Monica and the rest of the rooftop kitchen staff who are all AMAZING. All of the staff are FANTASTIC, polite, respectful, welcoming and always willing to help. As always it was a fabulous stay. We also discovered that they are pet friendly as there were couples with their little doggies and it made us so happy. 😍

Wonderful and friendly staff, super helpful! Very close to the Malacon, shopping and restaurants. Victor is very knowledgeable and directed us to a great restaurant Casa Tradicional, and told us how to get the bus to the Jardin Botanical de Vallarta, and saved us lots of $$$ by not taking a taxi! Great breakfast that is included, and a lovely rooftop view of the cathedral. Would absolutely stay here again!

Loretta

The breakfast was great - cooked to order and served by cheerful ladies. Pretty much anything you want, though strangely they don't seem to have tortillas. The location is excellent, right by the river, with downtown steps away in one direction and the Zona Romantica just over the bridge the other way, 2 blocks to ocean. Well appointed room, good working AC, nice staff, a gym, modern bathroom.

John

Locally ran hotel, very friendly staff, very accommodating, helped us with our bags checking in and out, allowed us to keep our pushchair downstairs, allowed us to leave our bags for a few hours after checkout, arranged a taxi with excellent service for us to the airport. Homemade breakfast to order in the morning with flexible hours.
